The 29th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Tuesday 25th April 1837 over the Rowley Mile, was Achmet (4/6 fav), a bay colt by Sultan out of Cobweb, owned by the 5th Earl of Jersey. A field of 9 runners contested the race which was worth 1750 Sovereigns (Equivalent to £192,900 in 2017)
